Meet Dr. Scott
Dr. Patricia A. Scott was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. She completed her Bachelor of Science with honors at Michigan State University majoring in Clinical Nutrition. Dr. Scott received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois, where she graduated with honors in 1988.
Dr. Scott continued her training in Chicago at the University of Illinois and Cook County Hospital, completing four years in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency. Her training included facial and jaw reconstruction, TMJ surgery, pathology (benign and malignant), harvesting bone, maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, anesthesiology, dental extractions, as well as dental alveolar and implant surgery. Dr. Scott relocated to Port Charlotte, Florida, in 1992 after completion of her residency training. She has been in private practice for nearly 30 years. She is affiliated with Fawcett Memorial Hospital. Dr. Scott is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Florida Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association. She is the 2020-21 President of the Charlotte County Dental Society.
When Dr. Scott is not working, she enjoys cooking, biking, hiking, traveling, and spending time with her pugs (Lucy and Benji). She has two children (Morgan and Nathan). Morgan is a junior at the University of Colorado at Boulder and Nathan is in construction and working on his Associates degree. Dr. Scott cares deeply about this community and the residents. She is a part of the Boys and Girls Club, active in the Animal Welfare League and volunteers with the Virginia B. Andes Community Clinic. She has volunteered with mission trips to Ecuador providing the children and adults with oral surgery needs.
