Dr. Andrea Toufexis Esch is a highly accomplished anesthesiologist with a passion for providing safe and evidence-based anesthesia care. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and raised in Buffalo, NY. From a young age, she knew she wanted to become a physician, and she demonstrated exceptional dedication by completing her BS and DO degree in just 7 years through the accelerated program at the State University of New York at Geneseo and New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
After earning her doctorate, Dr. Esch pursued an internship and residency in Anesthesiology in Buffalo, NY. Following her residency, she furthered her expertise by undertaking a fellowship in Acute Pain and Regional Anesthesia at the University of Florida. During her time at the University, she also served as faculty at Shand’s Hospital, where she taught anesthesiology to oral maxillofacial residents.
Her academic accomplishments and commitment to teaching earned her recognition at the University of Buffalo, where she was on faculty. Dr. Esch received the Outstanding Teaching Award and the distinguished Adragna award for mentorship and excellence in patient care. She continued to expand her skill set by becoming certified as an Executive Physician Leader.
Ultimately, she missed the sunshine state and returned to Florida where she fulfilled her dream of providing individualized anesthesia services in the office setting. She is also active in the HCA Hospital System. She prides her practice on safely facilitating the unique needs of the surgeons and patients for whom she has the honor of caring for.
In her spare time, Dr. Andrea Esch enjoys traveling, speaking at conferences, and most importantly, spending quality time with her husband and children. Her passion for medicine, dedication to patient care and ongoing pursuit of excellence make her a valuable asset to the medical community and a trusted provider for her patients.
