  • You may not have anything to eat or drink (including water) for a minimum of EIGHT (8) hours prior to the appointment.
  • Drink plenty of fluids the day before your surgery. We recommend 64 oz of water or Gatorade to assist with the ease of your IV placement.
  • No Illicit drug use prior to any surgery. If you are prescribed medical marijuana, please follow your doctor’s recommendations given the day of consultation.
  • A responsible adult must accompany the patient to the office, remain in the office during the entire procedure, drive the patient home, and be with the patient at home throughout the remainder of the day.
  • Please wear loose-fitting clothing and comfortable sneakers with Velcro or laces. A short sleeve shirt is best, if wearing a long sleeve shirt, make sure it can be rolled up. White shirts are not recommended.
  • Contact lenses, jewelry, dentures, and piercings (tongue ring, lip ring) must be removed at the time of surgery.
  • Do not wear lipstick, excessive makeup, we need Bare Nails Only (No- nail polish, acrylic nails, gel polish, dip powder on any) on the day of surgery. Nail polish, acrylic nails, gel polish, dip powder can inhibit some of the signals to our monitor during surgery.
  • If you have an illness such as a cold, sore throat, fever, cough, stomach, or bowel upset, please notify the office, as your surgery may need to be postponed for your safety.
  • If you were given a sedative medication to take prior to surgery, please ensure that you pick up the prescription from your pharmacy and bring it to your appointment as instructed by your doctor.
  • If you take routine high blood pressure or diabetic medications, please make sure you discuss with us if you can or should withhold these medications during the eight-hour period of not eating or drinking anything.

For my safety, I agree that if I do not follow these pre-op instructions, my surgery may be rescheduled, and I will be subjected to a $250 cancellation fee.
